Future Legacy

We're building a more sustainable Pride — minimising our footprint as a grassroots organisation while we grow, and leading by example for the community and the city we serve.

Why it matters

Sustainability is a queer issue

Climate justice and queer justice are deeply intertwined. The same systems that marginalise LGBTQIA+ people often leave them more exposed when crisis hits — and for too long, mainstream environmentalism has left queer, trans and other marginalised voices out of the conversation.

LGBTQIA+ people — and especially trans, non-binary and intersex people — can be hit hardest by housing insecurity and gaps in healthcare, the very pressures that climate shocks make worse. A greener Pride is part of a fairer one. As a new, grassroots organisation, we're starting with three things we can deliver well and build on.

Going digital-first to cut waste
Commitment 01

Digital-first approach

We're pioneering a digital-first strategy to dramatically reduce our environmental impact — minimising physical production and maximising digital efficiency to cut the waste tied to printing, transport and disposal. We will:

  • Minimise paper, flyers and printed materials across our events and year-round operations.
  • Prioritise digital communication, online ticketing and digital event guides, so information is always accessible without physical waste.
  • Encourage attendees and partners to choose digital alternatives, aligning the whole community with the practice.

“Our commitment to the planet starts with the paper we don't print.”

Sourcing locally and ethically
Commitment 02

Local & ethical sourcing

Our events will be a platform for sustainable practice. Keeping our supply chain local and ethical reduces transport emissions, strengthens the London economy and supports responsible labour. We commit to:

  • Source food, drink and merchandise from local London businesses wherever possible, cutting the carbon footprint of long-distance logistics.
  • Partner with vendors who share our commitment to ethical labour and demonstrable environmental responsibility.
  • Work with suppliers to reduce packaging waste and choose reusable or recyclable materials.

“Supporting local is supporting our whole community.”

Recycling and mindful waste management
Commitment 03

Mindful waste management

We'll work to make our events as clean as they are vibrant — cutting landfill waste through clear processes and active community education. We will:

  • Place clear recycling and waste-sorting stations across the whole event footprint, so it's easy to dispose of waste correctly.
  • Partner with specialist waste-management companies for correct disposal and the maximum possible recycling.
  • Educate and encourage attendees on site about proper separation, working toward our zero-waste ambitions.

“Less landfill, more liberation.”

Laying the groundwork for a sustainable Pride.

By focusing on these three core areas, we're building an organisation that can grow — and lead by example — for years to come.
