Where can I get LGBTQ+ support in London?

This page signposts trusted LGBTQIA+ services across London and the UK — including Switchboard’s national helpline, MindOut and Queerwell for mental health, Galop for abuse and hate crime, akt and Stonewall Housing for housing, and Rainbow Migration for asylum support. In an emergency, always call 999.

Is there an LGBTQ+ helpline in the UK?

Yes. Switchboard runs the national LGBTQIA+ helpline by phone, email and webchat, and Galop runs dedicated helplines for domestic abuse, hate crime and conversion practices. If you need to talk to someone right now, Samaritans are free on 116 123, day or night.

Where can I find LGBTQ+ mental health support?

MindOut, Queerwell and London Friend all offer LGBTQ+ mental health and wellbeing support, from online services to counselling. You’ll find a link to each in the services section above.

How can I be a better LGBTQ+ ally?

Are these LGBTQ+ support services free?

Most of the organisations listed offer free support, and some counselling or therapy is free or low-cost. Check each organisation’s website for what they offer and how to access it.
